PLAYER SURVEY · EARLY GAME RESEARCH

What would you draw, and where would you play?

I'm exploring a 2D throwing game where players draw characters and separate weapons, then use them in physics-based play. The proposed design lets the shape and weight distribution of a drawing affect throws and collisions. Players could draw from scratch or edit a starting design.

The platform is still undecided. These questions ask about your interest in drawing and testing creations, your preferred platform, and how you'd draw on it. You don't need drawing skills or experience with building games to answer.

Eight questions. You can skip any question. No account, name or email is requested. Please leave out personal information. Responses are for the developer's research; individual answers are not published on this page.

1. Have you drawn, built, or edited something in a game? If so, what happened when you used it?

Name the game, describe what you made, and whether you changed it afterward. If you haven't, you can say so.

2. How interested are you in drawing something and testing how it throws or reacts to collisions?
3. What, if anything, would you want to draw for this game?
4. What, if anything, would make you change a drawing and try it again?

You can also say that you'd rather keep it as it is or move on.

5. How would you prefer to start making a character or weapon?
6. What would put you off drawing in a game?

Select any that apply. Choose “Nothing comes to mind” by itself.

7. Where would you prefer to play this kind of game?
8. If you did draw in it, which input would you prefer?

You can mention drawing on one device and playing on another in the note below.
